About this site
vigabatrin.org is an independent information site about one medicine: vigabatrin, sold as Sabril, Vigafyde, Vigadrone, Vigpoder and generic versions. It is written for parents and caregivers of babies with infantile spasms, for people living with refractory complex partial seizures, and for the clinicians and pharmacists who look after them.
What the site does
The site lays out what is known about vigabatrin: what it treats, how it is dosed, its risks, and how its different forms compare. Every factual claim is tied to a numbered source, and the sources page lists all of them with links to PubMed and the FDA labels.
A large part of the site is about a practical question families face twice a day: how the medicine is prepared and measured. Where the evidence favors one form over another, the site says so, and it says where that evidence is thin. See liquid vs powder.
Independence
This site is not run by, paid by, or affiliated with any company that makes or sells vigabatrin. It does not carry advertising, and it does not earn money from links or referrals. Product names appear because they are the names people search for and see on the pharmacy label.
What the site is not
The site is general information. It is not medical advice, and it cannot replace the prescriber, the pharmacist, or the FDA prescribing information. See the medical disclaimer.
How content is kept current
Content is reviewed at the start of each year, and sooner when a label changes or an important study is published. The editorial policy explains how sources are chosen and how corrections are made.
