Privacy policy
On this page
vigabatrin.org is a read-only information site. It has no accounts, comment forms, newsletters or advertising, and it does not sell personal information. This policy explains the small amount of information involved in running it.
Information collected when you visit
The site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it: which pages are read, how people find the site, and what devices they use. This helps decide which topics to improve. Analytics data is looked at in aggregate, not to identify individuals. See cookies and analytics below for what is collected and how to decline it.
The dose calculator
Everything you type into the dose calculator, such as weight or age, stays in your browser. It is not sent to the site or stored.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and Google receives information like the pages you view, how you arrived, your general location (city level), and your device and browser type. The site uses this only in aggregate. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy. Advertising and personalization features are turned off, and the site sets no advertising cookies.
Your choice. The first time you visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change your mind at any time here:
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: analytics cookies are off unless you accept.
- Visitors elsewhere: analytics is on unless you decline.
When analytics is declined, no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out add-on.
Your browser may also keep ordinary cached copies of pages to load them faster.
If you email contact@vigabatrin.org, your message and email address are received in order to reply. They are not added to a mailing list or shared, except where required by law. Please do not send private medical details; the site cannot give personal medical advice. You can ask for your correspondence to be deleted.
Links to other sites
Pages link to outside sites such as PubMed, the FDA and support groups. When you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies.
Children
The site is written for adults, including parents and caregivers of young children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can browse the site without giving any personal information, and you can decline analytics cookies. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what information is held about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. Because the site holds almost nothing beyond any emails you send, most requests can be met by deleting correspondence. Contact contact@vigabatrin.org.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the site changes how it works.
